Barbieri’s artwork is filled with organic shapes, rich mineral colors and heavy texture, and is collected by private and corporate collectors from around the world.

Laurel Barbieri, Dallas Safari Club 2016 Featured Artist of the Year, is inspired by nature at its most intense. Critics have called her one-of-a-kind paintings contemporary, primitive, abstract, and “real life.” Collectors love her work because it captures the essence of the wild and provides more than a visual experience—there is an emotional connection as well. Barbieri’s art reflects her deep connection with the natural world and her love of texture and color.

Barbieri grew up in the foothills of Washington state’s Olympic Mountain range, and now resides at her home in Portland, Oregon. “It is the tranquility and wonder I found in nature as a child that continues to fuel my passion for my art and my life,” she says. Laurel’s art falls into two general categories, Contemporary Cave Art and Animal Art. Both types of work reflect her deep connection with the natural world and her love of texture and color.
