I have always gathered inspiration from the natural world. As a teenager the first artwork I sold was a painting of a bird, still a favorite subject. An inherent love of art led to a successful career as a decorative artist working with top design professionals in the southeast. All artistic energy is now focused on fine art painting. I am currently working in acrylic and mixed media on canvas and paper.
Aiming to produce paintings with a quiet, tranquil atmosphere I paint in a softly focused style depicting gentle light. Capturing the essence of birds and other animals in my wildlife paintings is foremost. These paintings are given a more contemporary feel by placing them in a portrait like setting with complimentary backgrounds. Striving to reflect my deep roots in the southeast, I have never grown tired of painting the landscapes and wildlife found there.
