Jackson Hole Art Auction September 19, 2020
Trailside Galleries and the Gerald Peters Gallery are pleased to announce the Fourteenth Annual Jackson Hole Art Auction, scheduled for September 19, 2020 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Specializing in classic and contemporary masterworks of the American West, the Jackson Hole Art Auction is defined each year by its excellence in wildlife and sporting offerings, and this year’s sale includes an impressive number! Exemplary wildlife works from Bob Kuhn, including Red Fox Airborne, a 16×26 acrylic on board, estimated at $50,000 to $75,000, and A Cry to the Wild, a 14 x 29 ¾ acrylic on board, also at $50,000 to $75,000, will be included. Also featured is an important work by Carl Rungius, Wyoming Elk, a 30 x 46 ¼ oil on canvas. It will be offered at $150,000 to $250,000. Additional wildlife pieces by Friedrich Wilhelm Kuhnert, Tucker Smith and John Clymer are also committed.
Sporting highlights include offerings by Arthur Burdett Frost, Stanley Meltzoff and Gary Ernest Smith, among others. Bob Kuhn is also represented among the sporting art with two early illustrations—Tiger Attack and Elephant Illustration. Also on offer is Autumn Reverie, a 24×36 oil on canvas, by Harry Curieux Adamson, estimated at $25,000 to $35,000. Jackson Hole Art Auction is currently accepting bids for the 2020 auction.

Tucker Smith: A Celebration of Nature
The National Museum of Wildlife Art is proud to announce the traveling exhibition schedule for a retrospective of the work of Tucker Smith. Featuring more than 75 original oils, this exhibition is a true survey of Smith’s life’s work, with pieces ranging from his early years as a professional artist to his most recent paintings. This exhibit presents the breadth of subject matter he has tackled, including western wildlife, camp and cowboy scenes, as well as stunning landscapes. One of the Museum’s signature images, The Refuge, will be a highlight of this touring exhibition which also features a full-color catalog. The exhibit is scheduled to travel to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, the National Sporting Library and Museum, The Booth Western Art Museum, and the C.M. Russell Museum after making its debut at the National Museum of Wildlife Art.
