Patrice Wolput was born in 1963 in Sabrevois, a small farming village about fifty kilometers from Montreal. While growing up on his parents’ farm, he manifested from an early age his attraction to nature and an innate talent for drawing. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Plastic Arts from the University of Quebec in Montreal, Patrice explores various avenues related to his art. He invests in television series as artistic director in decoration, and in cinema as a painter, while devoting himself to painting in his spare time.
From his fascination with nature was born his passion for naturalist painting. With a spirit of observation and attention to detail, he strives to highlight the intimate link between the animal and its habitat. His keen and intuitive sense in this area is also reflected in his pictorial works. Several of his works have been selected to illustrate various monographs, especially on birds.
The artist, called to participate in several exhibitions in Canada, the United States and Japan, is the recipient of several awards.
