In nearly 40 years of painting, Ron Van Gilder’s inspiration comes from three sources in the natural world:  an interesting point of view or pose of any animal; lighting effects that enhance form and lend atmosphere to a setting; landscape elements thaat support a strong composition.  If I can get them all working together, a good idea becomes a good painting.
