Ross received his Bachelor of Fine Art and Master of Art degrees in painting from the University of Tulsa. Over the years, Ross has exhibited his work in national and international art shows, galleries and museums. The Bird Dog Museum and Hall of Fame has over 45 of his paintings in their collection. His clients include such corporate giants as Nestle Purina, International Paper Company, Procter & Gamble and Bass Pro Shops.
A professional artist since 1980, Ross’ award winning art spans a number of painting genres. His repertoire of subjects includes upland bird hunting, fly fishing, wildlife and landscapes. Ross has the honor of painting the most distinguished sporting dogs in the world. The Nestle Purina Company commissions Ross to annually paint 18 portraits of their Outstanding Field Trial Dog Awards and sponsored Championships. He is the official artist for the National Pointing Dog Championship and the Continental Championship (each of which have been running for well over 100 years), American Field Quail and Pheasant Futurity, N.S.T.R.A. Trial of Champions, N.S.T.R.A. High Point Dog of the Year, National Open Shooting Dog Championship, U.S. Shooting Dog Invitational Championship, NVA National Championship, NGSPA Invitational Championship, as well as the Retriever National Open and Amateur Championships.
When Ross is not at work in his studio, you will most likely find him out doing what he loves most: hunting, fly fishing and hiking. Ross divides his working time between his main studio located in the Bear River Range near Mink Creek, Idaho and his mobile studio “Arlo” which could be about anywhere.
